So, it's been quite a while since I took my first class with HWG. I learned so much, so why did I wait so long, and why am I back into it now? Well, I had some major personal issues occur shortly after I took my first class, and my life got turned a little upside down for a while. I had to put my web development goals on the back burner in order to get things straightened out. So, almost five years later, I finally have things in a place where I can get back to the things I love and have had to put off.

I had previously created an online photography portfolio for my father (my first paying gig), but he kind of slacked off, and it never got 100% finished. I never got all of the info I needed to launch my redesign, and he let the domain lapse, so the site kind of went by the wayside. Recently, I found an OSWD template that I really liked, and I decided I wanted to resurrect my dad's old site. I created a mock up of the site, and I've been slowly putting it back together. Of course, I'm again waiting for the content from him, but he promises me I'll have it soon.

Shortly after I finished what I could do on the site, I received an eClasses email (which I'd just been ignoring), and it sparked. I renewed my membership, and I figured out four classes to take from the current email list, and I signed up for the first two. As much as I've been enjoying H152 - Intermediate CSS Workshop, I found myself constantly refreshing the page looking for something new to pop up. I received the next edition of the eClasses list and I saw that this class was starting this week, so I quickly registered to give myself an additional challenge. Eventually, I'd like to have taken most of the HWG classes, so that I can have an broad knowledge of web development, and I can also fine tune the knowledge that I already have.

I've come a long way from the blinky, bright cloud background, painful site that I created 13 years ago (when I was 13), but I have a long way to go still.
